It's like Christmas in the fall for Apple fans: not only did we have a media event in September to introduce the new iPhone 5 (as well as new iPods and iOS 6), we now have a second media event to show us... "a little more," according to Apple.

Could that "little" thing be the long-rumored "iPad mini?" The device is expected to sport a 7.85" screen—smaller than the full-sized iPad's nearly 10" screen—and be positioned more against e-readers like the Kindle than generalized tablet computing devices. In fact, some recent rumors say Apple plans to put a heavy focus on iBooks during this event, increasing speculation that Apple wants a bigger chunk of the e-reader market.

But that's not all! Though Apple doesn't often mix iOS device announcements with Mac announcements, there have been plenty of signs pointing to the company doing just that on October 23. A 13" version of Apple's Retina MacBook Pro may make its first appearance, with updated iMacs and Mac minis supposedly bringing up the rear. And, although Apple first announced a newly made-over version of iTunes in September, we may finally see the release (or at least a release date) this time around.

We'll be covering the event live from the California Theater in San Jose, California. Through our liveblog, we'll bring you the announcements as they happen in both text and photo form, along with additional reporting on the product announcements. The whole thing is set to begin at 10am PDT (GMT-7) on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 (see it in your timezone).
