iOS 6.0.1: bug fixes, security patches

Apple has released iOS 6.0.1 to fix a range of bugs and security issues.

iOS 6.0.1 has been released for iPhone 3GS and later, iPad 2 and later, and iPod touch (fourth generation).

Apple lists the following changes:

Fixes a bug that prevents iPhone 5 from installing software updates wirelessly over the air

Fixes a bug where horizontal lines may be displayed across the keyboard

Fixes an issue that could cause camera flash to not go off

Improves reliability of iPhone 5 and iPod touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 Wi-Fi networks

Resolves an issue that prevents iPhone from using the cellular network in some instances

Consolidated the Use Cellular Data switch for iTunes Match

Fixes a bug affecting Exchange meetings
On the security side, the update addresses vulnerabilities in JavaScript and SVG handling that could allow arbitrary code execution.

It also addresses an issue which could help malicious applications bypass address space layout randomisation, and another that could allow access to Passbook passes without entering the passcode.

In related news, Apple also released a beta version of iOS 6.1 to developers. The main change is reportedly the addition of a system that allows developers to use Apple's maps within their applications.
