Microsoft Surface Tablet Makes Oprah's List of 'Favorite Things'

The Microsoft Surface tablet "feels like a Mercedes-Benz," Oprah said.

You get a Surface! And you get a Surface! We all get a Surface!

OK, maybe not. But Microsoft's new tablet did get a ringing endorsement from former talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, who this week added the Surface to her recently revived list of Favorite Things.

"The Surface, Microsoft's first tablet, feels like a Mercedes-Benz to me, people!" Oprah wrote on her website. "The full-size keyboard built right into the cover makes work easy, the very smart kickstand makes watching a movie or Skyping a friend a delight, the less than a pound-and-a-half weight makes a great alternative to a laptop, and the many other features make it fun for work and play. Now, that's a wowser!"

Oprah's Favorite Things started on her TV show as an annual holiday event where Oprah would reveal her favorite products of the year - from baking sheets to 3D TVs. But not only did she show off these products, she gave them away to every member of her studio audience, making the Favorite Things show the hottest ticket in town.

Oprah has since ended her TV show to focus on her OWN cable network. But she announced last month that she would bring back Favorite Things for a two-hour TV special that provides the items to deserving military spouses. The special first airs on OWN on Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. Yesterday, meanwhile, Oprah teamed up with The Huffington Post to launch HuffPost OWN, a new section on HuffPo that will feature an "Oprah-branded experience," like Favorite Things.

In 2010, Oprah added the iPad to her Favorite Things list"Words cannot describe what I feel for this magnificent device," Oprah said at the time. "Thanks to my iPad, I now read about four newspapers a day. I write my column for 'O' magazine on the iPad way before the deadline because I love writing on it so much."

Other tech gadgets on this year's Favorite Things list, meanwhile, include: the 46-inch Bose VideoWave II high-def TV, home theater, and music system, and Beats by Dr. Dre Powerbeats.
