It Is Getting Much Easier To Buy An iPhone 5

November 9, 2012
It appears that iPhone 5 supply is finally starting to catch up with demand. A supply check confirms that getting a new iPhone for use on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon, is improving, according to AppleInsider. This assessment is based on Piper Jaffray’s nightly check of 100 Apple Stores for iPhone 5 supplies. They found that 54 percent of Apple Stores now have the AT&T model in stock, while 24 percent had the Verizon model. The Sprint model, meanwhile, were in stock in 84 percent of the locations. According to the report, Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster and his team have checked supplies for the iPhone 5 for the last 23 days.
To determine availability, his team has checked the Apple online store 30 minutes after new iPhone 5 units become available for reservation at 10 p.m. local time each night. His sample consists of 100 stores across the U.S. serving 10 different zip codes.
Launched on September 21, the sixth-generation iPhone has experienced supply chain difficulties from the start. These problems have been blamed on a number of factors including the production of the handset’s larger 4-inch screen, Apple’s movement away from Samsung as a display provider, and more. A report earlier this week suggested that Apple's primary manufacturer, Foxconn, still couldn't keep up with iPhone 5 demand. Source: AppleInsider
