Hello, New Apple Store

Should we place bets on whether the new Apple store on the Third Street Promenade will open by Christmas?

Dozens of construction workers scaled the scaffolding Wednesday morning and crawled across the shiny black roof roof, which is now visible from the upper levels of downtown parking garages.

Bloomberg reported this summer that the new, three-floor Apple store will open  and the current store just one block away will close by the new year...

For nearly $60 million, Nakash Holdings purchased the 17,550-square-foot property at 1415 Third St.—just .2 miles south of the current store at 1248 Third St.—in a deal that was contingent on the electronics giant being the tenant.
