Apple selling iPhone 5 without contracts

Those looking to get an iPhone without signing a 2-year contract can now do so directly from Apple. The company is selling 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB GSM models. Pricing is $649, $749, and $849. The phones work on GMS networks globally, such as AT&T and T-Mobile in the USA. You'll need to get a nano-SIM card from your mobile provider and the iPhone 5 doesn't use conventional phone SIM cards.

Dealing with contract can be a bit of a pain, but usually saves money. Unless your carrier offers a substantial non-contract rate, consumers might as well get something for their mobile monthly bill. More likely, this is a way for users to get the iPhone in markets and for providers where its currently not available.
