Classy Leather And Felt Pockets For Your iPhone 5

An iPhone case has never “felt” this good (#rimshot). OK, I’ll stop with the puns already. This case for the iPhone 4 from Studio Credence is fashioned from merino wool felt with a leather pocket (and strap, depending on the model). It comes in a variety of tasteful colors, and looks both tough and useful enough to be a permanent iPhone case, even for the committed bareback user.

Wool felt is one of my favorite materials – which is just as well as I seem to have trouble selecting the cool washing cycle for my wool sweaters. It’s tough, can be pretty waterproof and wears well. It is also ultra-light for its size. Here’s Wikipedia’s hilariously sexual description of felt:

Felt is made by a process called wet felting where the natural wool fibres, stimulated by friction and lubricated by moisture (usually soapy water), move at a 90 degree angle towards the friction source and then away again

The pouches come with an external leather pocket for cards and cash, and the whole thing is flexible and slippery enough that you could keep it in a pocket, or put it in a bag to save it from loose, jangling keys.

Best of all is the price. $34 is more than that crappy bumper from the stall down at the mall, but for an accessory which will get old gracefully and serve you until Apple changes the shape of its iPhones yet again, it’s a steal.

I’m planning on getting one and leaving it in my jeans pocket as a kind of secondary liner.
