Microsoft's cloud storage feature SkyDrive is now available on the Xbox 360 gaming console.

Microsoft's cloud storage system SkyDrive is movin' on up, to the Xbox 360.

The Skydrive app for Xbox 360 will be rolling out today and should be live on the company's game console after 10 a.m. Pacific.

The app focuses on photo and video integration, potentially bringing every photo, video, movie, and other file stored on Skydrive to your Xbox-connected TV.

"This means your favorite content is now only one click away, whether you are using the Web, your PC, your phone, or now, even your big screen TV," Microsoft said in a blog post.

When a user is signed into the same Microsoft account on Xbox Live and Windows Phone, the app will upload a just-snapped photo onto the big screen in real time.

"When we thought about all of the possibilities of introducing SkyDrive to the Xbox 360 environment, there were lots of features we could have tied together," program manager Dan Somrack wrote on the blog. "But we wanted to focus on the scenarios that people have told us they would find most valuable."

Making life even easier, the SkyDrive app for Xbox supports Kinect voice controls and gestures, as well as remote and controller input. "Yes, this means you can view a slide show of your SkyDrive photos just by talking to your Xbox," Somrack said. "Which is very, very cool."

To get started, browse the Xbox console's apps to find SkyDrive in the "social" category. And check out Redmond's video below to see SkyDrive in action on the Xbox 360.

Meanwhile, iOS users won't be enjoying the big-screen benefits of SkyDrive any time soon, it seems. The Next Web reported today that a new version of the application is ready for download — complete with bug fixes — but can't get through the Apple marketplace, because Redmond won't pay the obligatory 30 percent cut of in-app revenues.
