Apple Makes Jailbreaking More Difficult in iOS 6.1 Despite No Jailbreak for iOS 6

Posted December 24, 2012 at 1:56am by iClarified
Apple has taken steps to make jailbreaking more difficult in iOS 6.1 despite a public jailbreak not being available for iOS 6.0 yet, reports i0n1c.

There must have been some change of guard at Apple.iOS6.1 adds again tougher protections although public JB community hasn't broken iOS6 yet

I0n1c is the hacker behind the untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2. He also jailbroke the iPad 3 on iOS 5.1. Although i0n1c doesn't go into specifics, this is bad news for a jailbreak community that has yet to see a jailbreak for the iPhone 5 and other devices on iOS 6.

The worst thing is, there´s a wonderful app, iBlacklist, that only works on jailbroken iphones. So I´m stuck forever in a jailbroken phone so I can use this app. I´m pressuring them to release the same app for Android, it would be just amazing.

it's all good. I'll just keep my iphone 4 with ios 5. I'm perfectly happy with it and don't see any need to "upgrade" anyways.

there are many new apps that only works on the new IOS 6, that's why it is necessary to upgrade it !

installous and hackulous were bad for the jailbreaking scene. it just gave apple a reason ...we should support jailbreaking and it's developers. it hurt the scene for everyone. Not to mention most apps on Cydia are priced less than a Slurpee.

I think jobs knew ppl would jb their devices so he always kept a loop hole so that developers can hack it and that would eventually sell more I devices...

It is so funny reading most of the comments. Specially when they start insulting each other. People chill, they are just gadgets. I know some love their iOS, others love their androids. All personal choices. Nobody held a gun asked you to buy which. They are like clothing, color or taste, all your choices. So what I am saying, there is no point to convince someone what is better. Unless themselves try the products. Like I posted before. There are pro and cons on both.

Nexus 4. I got mine around 11 am, by 2 I had rooted and installed apps via the play market that were available via jailbreak and only when the jailbreak was available, usually months after the latest iOS was released. Doing all I was and more by using a better OS.

Right! Better OS? EVERYONE agrees that iOS is a far better OS. EVERYONE. If you are willing to use a significantly inferior OS simply because you can root/jailbreak it, go for it. Just don't expect Apple to mourn your loss.

Get to life I am a huge apple fan but I hate to break it for you iOS apps are more alife but not as capable as android apps , iOS is more efficient in managing resources but android is way mkre customizable way more capable abs simpleer in some cases u have to admit there is real competition here iOS is not alone in the top without jailbreak iOS is waaaaaaaaay more behind than the notetwo I use iiphone and note 2 ipad 2 ipod almost every idevice and I tell you without jailbreak Apple iOS will die eventually sry for spelling mistakes

I will be leaving the fold soon. Back in the day, I was not a fan of Mac's because of the difficulties in accessing system preferences/power user options--OS X changed that, but now Apple is reverting back to a "protect the stupid masses" approach--in both iOS, and now with iOS influences onto the desktop. Bummer. The jailbreak devs have done more for providing and proving features than Apple is probably willing to admit. Bummer that pirating gave that community such a bad rap--it's not what jailbreaking should be about. I still think Apple should work out a different DRM solution, instead of shutting down a test bed for free features.

yes I returned my iPhone 5 and get The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 loving every bit of it, can show 2 apps on screen too, feature wise Android is rules iOS for the first time, my iPad 3 is on my desk, watching pogoplug video on a Note 2 is cool, no more tethering.
