LAS VEGAS—Vizio, a manufacturer best known for its HDTVs, once again tries its hand in the PC market with the launch of its new Window 8 PCs, including the Vizio MT11x-A1, an 11.6-inch a tablet PC running on a AMD Z-60 APU. The lineup also includes the 15.6-inch (CT15T-B0, CT15T-B1) and 14-inch (CT14T-B0, CT14T-B1) versions of the Thin + Light Touch Laptops, as well as the 24-inch CA24T-B0 and CA24T-B1 and 27-inch CA27T-B1 all-in-one desktop PCs.

CES 2013 Bug The MT11x-A1 isn't the first tablet that Vizio has come out with. There was the Vizio Tablet VTAB1008 (Wi-Fi), but that ran on Android, whereas the MT11x-A1 will run on Windows 8. The MT11x-A1 measures approximately 0.4-inch thin, and weighs 1.8 pounds. Its display is a touch screen. The 11.6-inch tablet comes with the AMD Z-60 ZPU with AMD Radeon HD graphics. It also sports a micro-HDMI port for connecting to TVs or displays.

The 14-inch and 15.6-inch Thin + Light Touch laptops add a 10-finger multi-gesture touch screen, while keeping a sleek profile. The screen on the 15.6-inch models is a full HD version, while the 14-inch models have an HD+ screen. Users have the option of configuring the laptops with either an AMD A10 APU or Intel Core i7 CPU.

The all-in-one Vizio desktops all come with full HD 1080p displays, enhanced 2.1 audio systems with subwoofers, and remote controls and dual HDMI inputs. Like all the systems in Vizio's Spring 2013 lineup, the CA24T and CA27T desktop models have a touch-screen display. The desktops also add a multi-gesture touchpad, as well as a wireless keyboard.

Pricing and availability for the Vizio systems has yet to be announced.

About Laarni Almendrala Ragaza

Managing Editor, Hardware

Laarni Almendrala Ragaza is the Managing Editor for the Hardware team. She is in charge of reviewing and testing desktops, laptops, netbooks, monitors, external hard drives, components (such as CPUs and graphics card), and peripheral devices, as well as keeping a motley group of lead analysts happy. Laarni started her career with PC Magazine in 2000 as a staff editor for the Network Infrastructure team. Over the years, she has taken several positions, usually within the realm of Hardware, including Associate Editor, Section Editor, PCMag Labs Director, and a brief stint as Reviews Editor for the Consumer Electronics team. Laarni earned a Master?s Degree in Radio and Television from San Francisco State University. Why she didn?t pursue that particular career path is a story best told over shots of tequila. In her (non-existent) spare time, Laarni enjoys watching sci-fi and procedural dramas, reading, jewelry-making, baking, and hanging out with her family. She also collects random pop culture trivia, and dreams of winning the lotto someday.
