Intel has launched its latest USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver. This release can be used with the 3rd generation Intel Core Processor Family and the 2nd generation Intel Core i3, i5, i7 and i7 Extreme Processors running on Windows 7 platform (both 32 and 64-bit versions).

The USB 3.0 driver is compatible with the Intel 7 Series Chipset Family used only with Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system (both 32 and 64-bit) and the Intel C216 Series Chipset Family used either with Windows 7 (32/64-bit) or Windows 2008 R2 (only 64-bit version).

As for the fixes, in this release, Intel resolved a problem with the USB Camera that would stop working after resuming from S3 state.

The “Setup.exe” will install USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller, Root Hub and Host Controller Switch driver, as well as the USB 3.0 Monitor application.

Note that no support is offered for Windows XP and Windows Vista, neither for 32-bit nor 64-bit versions.
