MYO controller lets you use your arm, fingers for gestures

MYO is an interesting new product announced from Thalmic Labs. The device is expected to ship later this year. It's an armband that translates muscle movements into command gestures. It also sense movement with a six-axisi accelerometer, which should provide a wide range of commands. So, whether you twister your arm, swipe or even move fingers, MYO promises to send those commands to a device. It links to your computer or smartphone via Bluetooth 4.0.

Currently the system works for Mac and Windows, and the company is planning APIs for third-party iOS developers.

There's no ship date other than Thalmic Labs expect to bring MYO to market by the end of 2013. Early adopters can pre-orders now for $149.
