Leap Motion Controller now up for pre-order, demo with Clear app

Leap Motion announced Wednesday it will be shipping to Leap Motion in May. The device allows physical gestures to be recognized by a computer via a USB motion desk sensor.

...the Leap Motion Controller, can track the movement of both hands and all 10 fingers up to 1/100th millimeter at up to 290 frames per second. It will be available beginning in May 2013 and will include access to Airspace, an application store. The Leap Motion Controller is up to 200 times more sensitive than existing motion-control technology, making it the first product to let users navigate and interact with supported computer applications using natural hand and finger movements.

The device works with Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8. The company is also launching an online store called Airspace for compatible software.

The ship date is set for May 13th, with boxes showing up in Best Buy on May 19th. Pricing is $79.99.
