iPhone and iPad apps for recording, arranging and creating music are pretty commonplace these days, but hooking up your guitar or microphone to these portable studios can be a bit of a pain.
IK Multimedia, the developer behind apps such as AmpliTube, SampleTank and iGrand Piano, launched a pocket-sized audio and MIDI interface today called the iRig PRO to solve such a problem.
It supports virtually every type of audio input, including XLR condenser mics and MIDI devices such as keyboards, pads and foot controllers. There’s even an input gain control dial to make sure every sound and tone is pitch perfect.
