Event Book might not offer a revolutionary flurry of new features for those attempting to organize their lives, but what it does offer is a very clean interface with which to do so.

The app is designed in a way that should appeal to all users, regardless of how they prefer to see pertinent information. Numerous different and individual layouts exist, and it's simple to switch between them. Initially, it's possible to view the day's events alongside a greeting and information on the weather. Annoyingly, this latter option doesn't appear to work properly but the rest of the section is quite clear to view. It's the kind of interface that's ideal to glance at to see what the rest of the day will bring.

Similar, clear overviews remain throughout each section of Event Book. It expands upon the principle offering up a weekly take on events, followed by monthly, and then a list view of up to two months worth of events. It could be overwhelming but Event Book does so concisely, making it a handy way of checking in on things coming up.

That's Event Book's real strength. It's not so much that it does anything exceptionally exciting, but it's sturdy and efficient in what's there. Locations can be added for those who need to keep track of where they need to be, as well as event URLs. Adding new events is simple, too, requiring a double-tap at any time in order to enter the relevant details.

I'd have appreciated the weather details working, but other than that it's tough to find a significant issue with Event Book. It syncs quickly with all other existing iOS calendars, and simplifies the scheduling process well. Even better, and perhaps more surprisingly, it's entirely free to use. For those looking for an uncomplicated replacement to the stock app it'll prove particularly beneficial.
