Finding fruit really shouldn't be so varied or fun, but it is.

Bored of slicing up fruit? Try squishing it with one finger! That's kind of the idea behind Go Seek, but it's also a lot about spotting the right fruit at the right time. It's quite fun and is the ideal kind of game to dive into any time there's five minutes to spare.

At first it'd be simple to dismiss Go Seek as too easy. It draws players in gently thanks to a very soft difficulty curve. Early stages tend to involve spotting only a couple of the same fruit amongst a very clear scene. Fortunately, things ramp up a fair bit and that's also where Go Seek turns more fun.

Sometimes it'll be a colorful background that will make things harder to distinguish, another time it'll be more subtle differences between individual fruits. Silhouettes and constantly moving shapes can also further complicate things, as well as one sole fruit being bundled in a basket full of many, many others.

Go Seek keeps things interesting once it gets going and the ever-ticking clock greatly encourages urgency. How long it takes for one to spot the right fruit or fruits dictates the ranking of the level, and can be made even worse by a nervous mistap at the wrong fruit. It's also somewhat refreshing that none of this is tempered by power-ups or coins that are used to skip ahead, or any other in-app peripheries that often clutter simple concepts.

While not strictly a game that one would probably spend hours on end playing during one session, Go Seek is consistently simple to dive into any time there's a spare five minutes. Given each stage only takes a matter of seconds, much can be achieved in a short space of time. Game Center support offering leaderboards for every part of the game goes a long way to enticing one into "just one more go" territory, too. I can see Go Seek sticking around on many players' iOS devices for a while to come.
