Usually, Twitter fights are prime examples of peak stupid—two or more stubborn sides spouting angry 140-character bursts so short that they’d never truly be capable of conveying nuanced arguments. But on Thursday, that oh-so-short character count turned one Twitter fight into the war of the week, when AMD’s Radeon Graphics account took on premium device skin maker dbrand in an impromptu epic rap battle.
As Android Police points out, it all started innocently enough, when the dbrand Twitter account started rapping about high-end Lamborghinis over the past week, comparing them to company’s vinyl device skins.
This Lambo is green, like a one dollar bill. You buy our skins, and we’ll make our mills. pic.twitter.com/87Sbb4fDdA

Look at this Lambo. The color is blue. Allow it to make, a royal debut. pic.twitter.com/7Vzx7YqolP

But on Thursday, dbrand’s rapping transitioned to boasting.
Yellow plus red, makes the color at hand. No other business, can rhyme like dbrand. #LNL pic.twitter.com/IcXH9Qf9A1

Them’s fighting words. AMD Radeon stepped up and started spitting rhymes Eminem-style. Dbrand, like any true mic warrior, accepted the challenge.
@dbrandSkins Listen up, the gauntlet’s thrown. The seeds for rapbattle just got sown. We’re 219,000 strong & now it’s on like DonkeyKong.^RH

@AMDRadeon Your rhymes have no substance, your flow needs some work. Try a bit harder, or quickly get murk’d.

//
@dbrandSkins Swer on me mum, the game’s just begun & your verses are numb. Let’s throw down & be exact: y’ain’t got it–that much is FACT.
— AMD Radeon Graphics (@AMDRadeon) July 10, 2014
//
#dbrandAMDrapbattle @AMDRadeon Your graphics excite, but your verse makes us yawn. This rhyme was too easy, go home, Radeon.

@dbrandSkins Carbon & leather? Your skins are legit, but your prose needs to get better. Real Talk™, Dbrand, it’s time you surrender. ^RH

#dbrandAMDrapbattle @AMDRadeon You’re trying your best, but still getting played. Blown up by dbrand: the pin-less grenade.
— dbrand (@dbrandSkins) July 10, 2014
//
@dbrandSkins Pinless grenade, that much is rite, we see you bombin’ this fight. King of The Game, Radeon Rex! Step off: you just got wrecked
— AMD Radeon Graphics (@AMDRadeon) July 10, 2014
//
#dbrandAMDrapbattle @AMDRadeon B for your effort, D for results. This rap battle’s ended. Like AMD’s pulse.
— dbrand (@dbrandSkins) July 10, 2014
//
Ooooh, that’s cold. After that fierce blow, dbrand calls truce—presumably to show mercy on AMD, which put up a solid effort but clearly got burned by the vinyl skin maker, which held onto its self-claimed crown as the best-rapping business on Twitter, if you ask me. (Sorry, AMD and Robert Hallock, but it has to be said.)
@AMDRadeon #gg, humans. Let’s do it again some time.
— dbrand (@dbrandSkins) July 10, 2014
//
@dbrandSkins Respect, y’all. Until we meet again. ^RH

Request: Can IBM step up to the Tweet mic next? I want to see if Watson’s hip-hop skills are as advanced as its Jeopardy chops.
