Vine for iOS updated with new camera, packs a plethora of new capture tools

Vine for iOS is getting a big update today, packing a new camera that adds a feature that those who use Instagram to share video have had for quite some time: the ability to create posts using clips from your camera roll. The new camera does more than add this method of creating posts, though, and includes many new tools for editing these videos to make your posts exactly what you want them to be.

The video import feature goes beyond what Instagram lets you do, with support for creating your post from more than one clip in your camera roll, and the ability to mix and match saved videos and shots taken in real time. Additionally, Vine says that slo-motion videos are also supported. When it comes to new post-capture editing tools, the app now lets you duplicate clips, mute them, and more. While shooting, you’ll find the new version brings focus lock to the front facing camera, a new torch feature for turning on the flash manually, and other helpful features.

The new version of the app will be available soon on the App Store for free. Check out the video below for a look at some of these features.
