Intel has made available a new LAN driver targeted at its Gigabit Ethernet controllers included in several of its NUCs, namely version 19.3, which is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

This new update can be applied on Intel’s D33217CK, D33217GKE, D34010WYB, D53427RKE, D54250WYB, and DCP847SKE NUC boards, as well as on the producer’s D34010WYK, D54250WYK, DC3217BY, DC3217IYE, DC53427HYE, and DCCP847DYE NUC kits.

As for the changes that version 19.3 brings, Intel’s package adds support for the X710, X710-2, X710-4, XL710-Q1, and XL710-Q2 Ethernet converged network adapters, and for the XL710-Q1 and XL710-Q2 Ethernet I/O modules.

In addition to that, the targeted NUCs include compatibility with the X710 for 10GbE backplane and SFP+, as well as with the XL710 for 10GbE QSFP+, 40GbE backplane, and 40GbE QSFP+ Ethernet controllers.

Moreover, if the 19.3 driver is applied, Intel’s XL710 and X710 virtual functions will also be supported, and speeds of up to 40 gigabits per second on select devices can now be achieved.

When it comes to updating to this version, simply save and run the proper executable for your OS and bit architecture, follow the displayed instructions for a complete installation, and perform a system reboot after the NUC has been upgraded.
