BlackBerry offering up to $550 for your iPhone through limited-time ‘Trade Up’ program

Itching to “trade up” from your iPhone to a shiny new BlackBerry Passport? Thanks to BlackBerry’s latest promotion, you’ll be able to do just that. The program will let Passport buyers get up to $550 in credit towards the new device when they trade in an iPhone 4s or higher.

In order to get the full amount, you’ll need to trade a brand-new iPhone 6 (or presumably a 6 Plus, though it’s not specifically listed on the chart). The trade-in value for each device is actually much lower (ranging from $90 to $400), but shoppers buying a Passport will get a “top-up” worth an additional $150.

If, for whatever reason, you’d like to take advantage of this offer, you’ll need to wait just a few weeks. The program goes into effect on December 1st and runs through February 13th.

The Passport sports a square 1440×1440 resolution display and a “touch-enabled” physical keyboard. It went on sale earlier this month.

This is anything but a trade up.

  2. So basically, they’ll take your trade, then sell those phones off for more than they would have, had they sold their own phones. This promotion is laughable. I would really like to see the final numbers of this come mid-February.

Either the ‘current management’ at BBerry thinks consumers are morons, OR the batteries in their collective calculators all went dead at the same exact same moment in time…. First, the whole concept of ‘trading up’ from an iPhone 6 to a BBerry ‘Anything’ is an act of mass delusion that should get a whole truck load of people in Ottawa locked up in a rest home for the mentally weary for months. OR, if the CONSUMER should actually fall for this scheme. THEY should be put away in another home for the mentally addled for at least a year with intense electro-shock treatment included…

BBerry IS DEAD. WALK AWAY.. Keep your money dry and live to play another day after they’re gone.

Who in their right mind would trade an iPhone for a BlackBerry? Look at that Passport device. How do you fit that thing in your pocket unless you’re wearing cargo pants? I’m not knocking the hardware because it could be considered practical in some sense, but why leave a huge ecosystem with thousands of developers to go to some BlackBerry ecosystem where developers are probably concerned about how long the company is going to last.

You must be a moron. It fits in my jeans and dockers fine. Did you ever even hold the thing or you just run your mouth every time blackberry is mentioned like all dumb Tards are supposed to do?

That’s weird. They want you to trade in your phone in exchange for a BlackBerry tablet.

Oh wait…that giant ugly block is a phone?? Holy hell, that’s the shittiest looking phone I’ve ever laid eyes on!
