Finally, an end to the problem of tangled headphones

Two British designers have solved the problem of tangled headphone cables with an iPhone case which has reached its crowdfunding target in under two weeks

The Mous Musicase will be produced in Manchester

As first-world problems go, the daily ritual of untangling headphone cables is a blight on many a commuter's life.

Now, a pair of British inventors claim to be able to put an end to this minor misery with an iPhone case which doubles as tangle-free headphone storage.

The Mous Musicase allows users to wind and unwind the headphone cable whenever needed, promising an end to "headphone pocket sex" (the very modern phenomenon of headphones becoming mysteriously tangled of their own volition).

Since being launched on crowdfunding site Kickstarter two weeks ago, Mous has already reached its £10,000 launch target.

Designers Josh Shires and James Griffith worked through over 25 prototypes before coming up with their final design.

They say that the cases, which will be produced in Manchester, will be shipped internationally before Christmas.

If successful, they plan to introduce cases for other phone manufacturers in the future.
