The Diamond iWatch: The Ultimate Luxury in Wearables

“Ultimate luxury” is how jewelers Mervis Diamond Importers describe their own elitist take on the Apple iWatch, but I think it’s just plain ridiculous. “Ultimate luxury” doesn’t even begin to cover it.

The Diamond iWatch is included in this year’s Holiday Gift Guide, another marketing stunt in my opinion, as it won’t be available till June 1, 2015. Sure, you can pre-order it now if you really want it, since it’s an “extremely limited first production” edition. If you have $30,150, that is.

The price of the Diamond iWatch can be justified because of all the bling that goes into it:

The watch features 8 rows of round brilliant diamonds, delicately set in a shared-prong tennis bracelet design. A total of 15.14 carats of diamonds are graded as E/F in Color and VS1/VS2 in Clarity, as certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

Additionally, it’s not ordinary gold, but rose gold, which, according to the jewelers is the hottest metal today.

So hot it will burn a hole in your pocket.

If you want a less hot metal, you may opt for platinum or white gold. Of course, the prices will change then.

However much the price varies depending on the metal, the fact that the Diamond iWatch has the same specs as the $349 Apple Watch does not change. All you have to brag about is that your watch is encrusted with coal that has undergone extreme pressure or something like that.

If you’re sitting on a pile of cash, though, and you want the glitziest iWatch in existence (for now), then pre-order the Diamond iWatch.
