Telstra wins $1.3m iPad deal with NSW Roads

Telstra has clinched a $1.3 million contract to deliver iPads, iPhones and other devices to Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) in NSW.

It is the first time Telstra has supplied iPads to the department, an RMS spokesperson told CRN. There are no volume commitments under the new contract, which includes data and voice services.

The iPad deal follows a major rollout of iPads to the Australian Taxation office through Ethan Group over the last six months. The contracts have totalled $3.9 million for 4,445 iPads.

RMS is one of the NSW government agencies to be brought under Service NSW. This will reportedly involve a new payments services platform (PSP) and RMS transactions to be moved to the CRM used by Service First.

Meanwhile Transport NSW has been undergoing a major IT services project involving migration of its data centre, which has seen millions awarded to UXC Connect.
