Tesla said Tuesday that it will introduce a home battery and a "very large utility-scale battery" in about a week's time.

The news was originally sent in a note to investors and analysts by Jeff Evanson, Tesla's vice president of investor relations. Tesla will announce its two future battery products on April 30.

In late March, Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted that the electric vehicle (EV) maker would unveil a "major new product line" at its Hawthorne Design Studio on April 30. The only clue? It's "not a car," he wrote.

On Tuesday, in a note seen by Bloomberg and other media outlets, Evanson spilled the beans about the "new product line."

"We have decided to share a bit about what we will announce on the 30th," Evanson said, according to Buzzfeed, which also said it saw the investor note. "We will introduce the Tesla home battery and a very large utility-scale battery. We will explain the advantages of our solutions and why past battery options were not compelling."

Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The carmaker recently boosted the range on its base Model S electric sedan. Tesla also recently rolled out a software update designed to help Tesla drivers manage "range anxiety" with better mapping tools for planning trips around recharging stops at the company's Supercharger stations and affiliated Destination Charger locations.

But Tesla is also sinking a lot of R&D capital into developing better batteries for its vehicles. In partnership with Panasonic, the carmaker is building a $5 billion "gigafactory" in Nevada to manufacture cylindrical lithium-ion cells for EVs and other battery implementations.
