But perhaps it's not surprising the Duke of York was one of the first to own the high-end watch as the 55-year-old is said to be keen on the latest technology.
He was the first in the Royal family to take a selfie in April last year at an event for entrepreneurs.
The prince took the photo at the final of his Pitch @ Palace competition at St James's Palace, and posted the image to Twitter.
He also posted a behind-the-scenes photo of the Queen and other members of the Royal family, taken in his mothers' private rooms at Buckingham Palace.

The prince is said to be a fan of gadgets such as the Apple Watch which starts at £299 for a basic sport version, while the limited edition gold version is valued at £12,000
Prince Andrew tweeted a picture of himself wearing the watch while he was at a meeting of the Commonwealth veterans' group on Thursday.
It is believed he received the expensive timepiece as a gift.
Last year the prince was sent more than 100 gifts at official engagements, including a model surface-to-air missile.
His spokesman told The Independent: 'A list of gifts received will be released in the usual way in early 2016.'
The Apple Watch has many of the iPhone features including the ability to send text messages.
Prices start at £299 for a basic sport version, while the more popular standard product ranges between £550 and £650.
The black stainless steel watch will set shoppers back almost £1,000 while the limited edition gold version is valued at £12,000.
