Despite a positive response at launch, it looks like the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge hasn't been enough to drag Samsung back into profitability.

According to a report by BusinessKorea, industry sources are predicting that operating profits will come in lower than expected for the second quarter of 2015. Analysts had initially predicted that the Galaxy S6 would pull Samsung back into profitability. However, the latest forecasts suggest that Samsung's profits could fall 24 percent year-over-year compared to Q2 2014.

Now that the shine has worn off the Galaxy S6, attention has shifted to an unannounced Galaxy Note 5 phablet, referred to internally by Samsung as "Project Noble." It is believed that the Galaxy Note 5 could take design cues from the Galaxy S6, specifically the glass-covered metal body. Rumors are that it will also feature a ultra-high definition 4K display.

There are also whispers that there may be a Galaxy S6 Edge+ in the works, which if the rumors are correct will be a Galaxy S6 with a larger display.
