If you use an iPhone and call T-Mobile your carrier of choice, we have some good news.
The self-proclaimed "un-carrier" just announced that it's adding Apple Music to its Music Freedom perk. First launched in June 2014, Music Freedom lets you stream from certain music services without drawing from your high-speed data allotment. You'll still have to pay for the music-streaming service itself, just not any of the related data use.
"Apple Music has become the single most requested new addition to Music Freedom and counts for a full 80 percent of the requests coming in via Twitter," T-Mobile President and CEO John Legere, wrote in a blog post. "I heard every one of them, so it's happening right now!"
With the addition of Apple Music, the program now covers 33 streaming services, including iHeartRadio, Pandora, Rhapsody, Slacker, Spotify, and smaller names like AccuRadio, Black Planet, and Radio Paradise. See the full list here.
Legere said Music Freedom has been an enormous hit with customers since it launched.
"They now stream over 131 million songs every single day — up an amazing 275 percent from a year ago when we launched Music Freedom," he said.
Meanwhile, T-Mobile also has a new upgrade offer for iPhone users. Those who buy an iPhone 6 this summer as part of the company's new "Jump on Demand" payment plan will be able to upgrade to the next iPhone for free when it comes out. This means that if Apple sticks with its usual release schedule and launches a new iPhone before the end of the year, you'll be able to trade in your iPhone 6 for the new model at no extra cost. Moreover, those who buy an iPhone 6 with Jump will get "exclusive priority access" to the next iPhone, meaning "if there's a new iPhone this year, you're first in line," Legere wrote.
