Google's YouTube iOS app just got a makeover.
The updated app provides easier access to recommended videos, favorite channels, and subscriptions via tabs at the top, bringing it more in line with the Android version.
In addition, YouTube added a new in-app editing tool, so users can upload videos and modify them while on the go.
The in-app editing tools in iOS don't necessarily provide a wide range of options, but they do allow for users to trim clips, add visual effects, and attach music. The new design will also surface more relevant videos that the company thinks users will want to see.
The new YouTube app is available now in Apple's App Store and requires iOS 7 or later.
The move comes several days after Google rolled out an update to the YouTube Kids app intended to address some of the problems raised earlier this year by parents and consumer watchdog groups. Two new features "just for parents" help adults learn how the app works, and allows for a customized passcode.
