The Best Deals On PS4 For Black Friday 2015

This article is more than 8 years old.

If you're considering buying a PS4 this Black Friday, you're not alone. Sony just announced 30.2 million sales for its indomitable console, continuing an impressive streak-- outpacing even the PS2 for total sales. The company slashed the base price to $349.99 a little while ago, but there are even better discounts to be had on the PS4 this Black Friday. You really can't go wrong with the PS4: it does what it advertises and it does it well, with some excellent exclusives to boot. When people ask me which console to buy, I usually tell them to go with PS4. So, here are your best deals on PS4 for Black Friday 2015:

A Standard Deal:

Just like with the Xbox One, PS4 deals are pretty standard at most major retailers. And just like with the Xbox One, the base price you're going to be dealing with is $299.99, in this case for the Uncharted Collection bundle. It features three full remastered PS3 games, one of which, Uncharted 2, ranks as one of the absolute best narrative games ever made. You'll find this one at Target , Gamestop, Walmart, Sam's Club, Best Buy and Toys R' Us. We're sure to see stock shortages on many of these, so move quick.

The exception to this rule is Meijer's Thursday deal, which throws in a $50 gift card redeemable after 11/29. That's mostly what we're working with, so you can shop relatively easy when you're looking for a PS4 this Black Friday. You'll be getting a discount, it'll be a pretty good one, and there isn't much variation. Most stores are also discounting a PS+ membership, which most people will want to pick up. You can grab three months for $10 at Walmart. You can buy a bunch of these if you plan on being a member for longer (you probably do). Controllers are also down to $40 at most retailers.

There are literally hundreds of games deals across all the retailers, and so you'll be best off doing some looking yourself to see what strikes your fancy. But anyone buying a PS4 should consider the maddening, brilliant, and unmissable Bloodborne for $20 at Best Buy and Gamestop. Other highlights include $25 for Batman: Arkham Knight at Best Buy, a pre-owned Assassin's Creed IV for $10 at Gamestop, Assassin's Creed: Unity for $8 at Wal Mart (definitely worth it for that price), Far Cry 4 for $15 at Target and Walmart, Evolve for $10 at Gamestop, The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt for $25 at Gamestop, and Metal Gear Sold 5: The Phantom Pain for $35 at Target and Best Buy. There are plenty, plenty more, so pour through those ads for more information.

Like the PS4 itself, shopping for a PS4 on Black Friday is blissfully simple. You can pick up a discounted console at any number of retailers, along with a few games, without having to worry too much if you're getting the best possible deal. Best Black Friday is  a pretty good resource for Black Friday ads of all stripes, so check it out to examine any particular retailer.
