Will The Apple Event On Monday Disappoint?

This article is more than 8 years old.

According to Oppenheimer, the Apple event on Monday could be a disappointment and may end up underwhelming investors.

Not only does the analyst at Oppy expect the Monday event to disappoint but he says that the next several Apple media events could be "underwhelming".

He further says that the upcoming event will not even compare to the event last year when Apple unveiled the Apple watch.

The media event on Monday will not lead to any increase in Street estimates according to Andrew Uerkwitz, the Apple analyst at Oppenheimer.

Based on his comments the event on Monday will be another one of those event that Apple makes changes "under the hood" but nothing that could be classified as a game-changer.

If the company does unveil the 4 inch iPhone, that will be a pretty big game changer in my opinion.

I do agree that the 9.7" iPad Pro might not be a game changer and might not lead to major estimate revisions come Tuesday morning.

All indications are that Apple will unveil the new 4 inch model

Wonder why Oppy thinks that will not be a game changer?

Hmmm!

Of course, he does have a $120 per share price target, so he is not very optimistic on the company's prospects down the road, in the first place.

Cest la vie.

I think he is wrong and I have faded his call.
