Dell CTO for Enterprise legs it to pastures new

Paul Perez peregrinates outta da picture

Dell's CTO for Enterprise, Paul Perez, has left the company.

Perez joined Dell from Cisco in March last year, and hasn't lasted long. With Dell buying EMC and the Dell EMC part of Dell Technologies handling the enterprise business, and having lots of its own EMC CTO firepower, perhaps there was an excess of CTOs and someone had to walk the plank.

Perez, in charge of UCS servers, was involved with Cisco's US$415 million Whiptail purchase and the subsequent failure of its Invicta all-flash array.

A Dell spokesperson said: "Paul Pérez, Chief Technology Officer for Enterprise Solutions, has made the decision to leave Dell to pursue other opportunities. We wish Paul the best in his post-Dell endeavours."

"As we consider candidates for this position, Dell will rely on its strong and deep bench of technology and business leaders to continue to prepare us for our next phase of growth. Robert Hormuth, Dell Fellow, will assume interim leadership of the CTO team." ®
