HP's New OMEN Notebooks And OMEN Desktop With GeForce GTX 1080 Showcase Devilish Good Looks, Impending Prowess

Hewlett-Packed announced its first OMEN gaming notebook back in November 2014, and now a year and a half later, the company is announcing four new additions to the family. For starters, HP is producing two new OMEN notebooks: one with a 15.6-inch display and another with a massive 17.3-inch display.

No matter which form-factor you choose, you’ll be greeted with a standard Full HD screen resolution, or you can pony up for an optional 4K screen. Both laptops can be equipped with up to an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor, 16GB of DDR4 SDRAM, and up to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M discrete GPU. Single-storage options include a 512GB PCIe SSD and 2TB HDDs, while dual-storage options include up to a 4TB HDD and a 128GB SSHD.

Both laptops include a single HDMI 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, a GbE port, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and an SD card reader. Other features include a backlit keyboard, Wide Vision HD Camera, an optional Intel RealSense Camera, dual speakers with Bang & Olufsen tuning and HP Audio Boost, HP Fast Charge, and battery life of up to 10 hours.

The 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch OMEN laptops will be available starting July 10th priced from $899.99 and $979.99 respectively.

Moving on to the desktop side of things, HP has announced the OMEN Desktop which is a gaming beast. The machine can be specced out with up to an Intel Core i7-6700K processor and up to 32GB of DDR4 memory. On the graphics front, HP is providing nothing but the best in the form of NVIDIA’s brand spankin’ new GeForce GTX 1080 Founder Edition. You can also choose an AMD Radeon R9 390X, but we all know that you want that smokin’ hot GTX 1080 under the hood.

The OMEN Desktop features a brushed metal, tool-less chassis and HP LED Lighting for an added custom touch. The machine can be equipped with up to 512GB SSDs or a 3TB HDD, while an an optional liquid cooling system keeps all of your high-powered components cool and quiet. When it comes to connectivity, you’ll find four USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, a single USB 3.1 Type-C port (on select models) a 7-in-1 media card reader and dual HDMI out.

HP is being mum on pricing for the OMEN Desktop, but we do know that it will begin shipping to retailers in August.

Last on the list is the new OMEN by HP 32-inch Display, which will go nicely with the OMEN Desktop. This desktop monitor features a screen resolution of 2560x1440 and a response time of 5ms. It offers 100 percent of the sRGB color space, supports AMD FreeSync technology, includes two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort and a built-in USB hub.

The OMEN by HP 32” Display ships in August, but pricing has yet to be announced.
