Microsoft has just released Windows 10 build 14372 for PC and mobile, and because we’re getting closer to the official launch of the Anniversary Update due in July, the company has been mainly focused on fixing bugs and improving performance rather than on bringing new features.

And while the Windows team hasn’t provided us with a list of bug fixes this time, it’s worth knowing that there are 3 different known issues for PC and mobile, so you should take them into account when upgrading to the new release.

As far as PCs are concerned, the bug that causes the network flyout on the taskbar to fail to launch the network settings page when clicking networks or VPN connection still exists. This was first confirmed in the previous build, so Microsoft still needs more time to fix it.

Then, if you enable Developer Mode, “you will receive an error message because the necessary package needs from Windows Update isn’t being published appropriately. This will prevent you from using Device Portal,” Microsoft explains. The company says that it’s still working to address this bug, and the next build could bring a patch in this regard.

Bugs in the Mobile version

For Mobile devices, there’s the new backup format of the operating system that reduces the size of the backup stored in OneDrive and that is still in the works, so your Start screen layout won’t restore. Battery life issues are still being experienced on a number of Windows Phone devices, including Lumia 830, 930 and 1520, and the company says that there’s also a new bug causing Wi-Fi to disconnect all of a sudden.

Overall, however, Windows 10 Anniversary Update is taking shape quite nicely, and with fewer bugs to resolve, it’s very clear that we’re approaching the release date set for July.

More builds will, however, launch in the coming days and weeks, but all of them will be focused specifically on fixing bugs and improving performance.
