Windows 10 Anniversary Update: Top 5 Changes Coming Including Microsoft Edge Upgrade, Ubuntu Bash; Full Details Here

US-based technology giant Microsoft is all set to launch its much-awaited Windows 10 anniversary update two months later on August 2. People are eagerly waiting for the largest ever operating system update, as it would be bringing in new features for all the Windows users.

Amongst many features to be introduced, the top five specs trending on the Internet are Cortana support, Revamped Stylus, Microsoft Edge, Biometric authentication, and Ubuntu Bash.

The first change that the Windows 10 Anniversary update would bring is the Cortana support, which is the provision of the advanced personal assistant for the operating system. PC Advisor reported that Cortana will have the ability to send notifications from the user's smartphone to the PC or vice-versa.

These notifications will include images and more details, according to update reports. It will also help Windows 10 users to answer phone calls on their desktop computers. CNET reported that Cortana support could be amplified with the help of various applications and bots. It is also stated that the personal assistant will work seamlessly even when the user are logged out of the Windows 10 operating system.

Further, USA Today claimed that the totally refurbished Stylus will consist of features like Windows Ink and the Ink Workspace.  The Microsoft Edge is reported to provide support for different extensions, as well as gestures for navigating back and forward, while using the web browser.

In addition, the Windows 10 Anniversary update will also introduce a new Biometric authentication, Windows Hello option. It is reported to enable the Microsoft OS users to directly sign into different applications and websites.

There are also a few interesting upgrades for the developers with the implementation of Ubuntu Bash, which automatically runs the Linux code on top of the Windows, claimed CBC News. This update is reported to bring a real UNIX terminal for the first time on the Windows operating system.  

Apart from the above-mentioned top five upgrades in the upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary update, more changes would be seen in the operating system. It is reported that the start menu will get a new look with a special Dark mode feature and new icons.

On the other hand, ABC News reported that users will also have the flexibility to switch between virtual desktops with the help of a single four-finger swipe feature.  The Windows 10 update will also have improved Sticky Notes application with the screen capture tool that the users would be able to call from any app.

The gamers would also benefit from the much-awaited Windows 10 Anniversary update. The users would receive more support for Xbox Play Anywhere, which will allow them to access the same games on the Xbox One console and any Windows 10 device.

Microsoft first announced the Windows 10 Anniversary update during this year's Build Developer Conference in the month of March 2016.
