Here’s what’s fixed on PC and mobile with this new build

Microsoft has launched Windows 10 build 14379 earlier today as another major step towards the final version of the Anniversary Update, and although not much has changed since the previous release, it’s still worth a try if you’re part of the Windows Insider program.

As we’ve already told you, Windows 10 Anniversary Update has reached the stage when no other new features are being released, so focusing on bug fixing and improving performance is the main thing that the Windows team wants to do right now.

And this is exactly what the new build does, with the PC version fixing an issue where the size of the Credential UI was not big enough to display all content on a PC with high DPI. In fact, high DPI settings have been an issue from the very beginning on a number of devices, and Microsoft is continuously delivering fixes with new builds for this purpose. So expect the Anniversary Update to come with significant improvements in this regard for retail users.

Windows 10 Mobile getting fixes too

Additionally, this PC build fixes bugs that cause the Action Center to crash when dismissing a large number of notifications, while also addressing a problem with Sticky Notes that was leading to notes losing keyboard focus when minimizing and reopening the app.

For Windows 10 Mobile users, this build fixes an issue “that could result in a stray focus rectangle becoming visible in certain apps, such as Groove or Cortana, after bringing up the keyboard,” and addresses a bug where the aspect ratio of live tiles images wasn’t preserved if they needed to be shrunk.

As far as known issues are concerned, there’s just one on PC - you can use Continuum with the Connect app and a fix will be delivered in the next build - and several on mobile, all of which we’ve seen in the previous builds, including Wi-Fi disconnect issues and battery life problems on Lumia 830, 930, and 1520.
