Apple opens Spanish language App Store feed on Twitter

Apple on Thursday launched a Spanish-language Twitter account for the App Store, looking to market iOS apps to a broader demographic.

So far only two posts have been made through the account, the first being a short animated greeting GIF. The second, a flag montage, suggests that the account is targeting countries around the globe.

Apple's Twitter presence has traditionally skewed towards English, owing partly to the United States being its home country and biggest market. That language also automatically covers Australia, Canada, Ireland, and the U.K., plus some regions where English is a common second language.

The App Store is available in dozens of countries around the world however, making it important to extend marketing to non-English speakers, particularly if the company is going to continue growing iOS device sales.
