Next Year's iPhone Won't Have a Home Button [Report]

Posted August 26, 2016 at 6:15am by iClarified
Next year's iPhone won't have a Home button, according to a new report from Bloomberg.

Apple is already at work on a major redesign of the iPhone for 2017 that focuses more heavily on the display by removing the Home button, according to a person familiar with the matter.

It's said that Apple will introduce three new iPhone models next year with one of them featuring a curved OLED display. The company is also widely rumored to be moving to an all-glass design for the 2017 iPhone. It will reportedly have a front glass cover and chassis, joined by a metal bezel and an edge-to-edge display that has no bezels on the top and bottom. Additionally, the front camera, Touch ID, speaker, and other sensors will apparently be embedded into the display.

It will have a different kind of button that's built into the body of the phone.

This coming iPhone won't have the home button. Next year's won't have volume, on/off and silent mode switches. And then finally the year after, it won't have lightning port and speaker and mic cutouts....just a solid piece of glass. Yes that's right, the electronics and battery components will be dipped into molten glass to form a completely encased phone.

Just like I kept saying over and over, upgrading to the iPhone 7 if you own an iPhone 6 or 6S is totally a waist of money!!!

So, does anyone really know what the purpose of the dual lens camera is? No joking, just wanting to know how it helps.

It helps for focusing the foreground and background, basically you can play with the depth of field. I think that's it honestly.

I like the home button. It eliminated so much frustration from the earlier android phones which didn't have one. I think they should keep the home button. As for the headphone jack let's hope it's better because so many of us use it quite frequently.

Sounds a little far fetched to be honest. If it is really going to be the case then the next iPhone sounds revolutionary. I think it's a case of watch this space.

Sounds pretty revolutionary. Let's pray Apple can pull off the best iPhone known to man next year..... This year I'm going for that neat duel lens camera. Really want amazing quality pictures. 6S is quality is subpar now with the note 7 here.
