iOS 10 Music App Ignores Tracks Marked Skip When Shuffling

iTunes has long had a tag that allows you to mark any tracks so they get skipped in shuffle mode. Select one or more tracks, press Command-I, click the Options tab, then check Skip when Shuffling.

Skip when shuffling

I apply this tag to all of my spoken word recordings, of which I have many, and to all of my classical music, which I don’t want to hear in random order.

But the iOS 10 Music app ignores this tag. If I shuffle my “songs,” then it plays everything. Music, spoken word, and any kinds of files that I have told it to skip when shuffling.

I have no solution, and have filed a bug report with Apple, but this is quite annoying for people with classical music or spoken word recordings.
