App of the Day: Sticker.Place
Want new iMessages stickers that aren’t totally corporate and have a little individuality about them? Then check these collections from Sticker.Place, which offers a way digital artists can create their own collections which are then distributed through iOS. These have been featured by Apple in the iMessage App Store.
“We are also developing a way for all digital artists to create their sticker packs for iOS 10. Through our technology, they’ll actually be able to create their own app with their own stickers for free. They just upload pictures to our website and create the app automatically,” explain Andrey Nikiforov and Ilia Kazantsev, who came up with the idea.
Why is this app of the day? It illustrates how artists may now be able to use Messages as a kind of canvas, but at the same time forms a bit of a warning that as that space becomes busier it will become harder to navigate through such content — it’s another of those looming app store discovery problems.
