Dubai: Dell launched its new XPS-13 running on Intel’s latest Skylake architecture (seventh-generation processor).

The virtually borderless display maximises screen space by accommodating a 13.3-inch display inside a laptop chassis of 11-inch. It’s also razor-thin and weighs just under 1.2 kilos.

The laptop is powered by a quad-core Intel Core i7-7500U 2 GHz processor and with Turbo Boost technology of up to 3.5Ghz.

Intel claims the seventh-generation processor is up to 12 per cent faster and up to 19 per cent increased internet performance than the sixth-generation processor.

Graphics is getting an upgrade but it isn’t as good as having a discrete graphics card.

The machine is made of machined aluminium and carbon fibre with Corning Gorilla Glass display.

The touchscreen device has a resolution of Quad HD display (3200 x 1800 pixels) and sports 8GB of RAM and 256GB of solid state drive. It gives about nine hours of battery life.

Regrading connectivity, it has WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0.

Regarding ports, it has an SD card reader, a USB 3.0 Type A port, and a Kensington lock on the left side. On the right, you’ll find a full-sized HDMI and second USB 3.0 Type A port, combination analogue audio jack, and a Thunderbolt 3 support. It comes in Silver, Rose Gold and Yellow Gold colours and prices start from Dh7,299.
