On Tuesday at the Cisco Partner Summit, the tech giant announced Cisco AMP for Endpoint, a security solution which combines prevention, detection and response technologies using Cisco's threat-centric security architecture.

The company says the new solution will "radically simplify endpoint security, allowing customers to ditch ineffective protection-only technologies."

As part of Cisco ONE Advanced Security licensing program, AMP for Endpoint is a SaaS solution supported by cloud technology.

According to Cisco, the software blocks malware at point-of-entry, continuously monitors for threats and includes a simple user interface to give enterprise staff a way to quickly respond to attacks.

Cisco AMP for Endpoint also includes global threat intelligence from the Cisco Talos security team, threat alerts, file monitoring and malware logs.

Threat data is shared and correlated across both the AMP ecosystem and other company platforms.

Scott Harrell, Vice President of Product Marketing, Security Business at Cisco says:

"Cisco continues the relentless evolution of our security architecture from the network to the endpoint to the cloud.
Today's AMP for Endpoints launch is a critical milestone. Customers now have the opportunity to simplify their endpoint security strategy, securing mobile users, servers and desktops by leveraging Cisco's threat-centric security architecture."

In October, Cisco purchased Worklife, in order to merge the firm's collaborative work platform with Cisco Spark.
