HERO: Mum Tracey says she owes her life to little Mikayla aged three

A girl aged just three has been hailed a hero after she called for help when she couldn't wake her mum.

Little Mikayla Riches found her mum, Tracey, lying motionless on the sofa and raised the alarm by calling her grandmother using FaceTime.

Mrs Riches is currently eight weeks pregnant and is suffering from severe morning sickness which led to the collapse.

She was alone with daughters Mikayla, three, and Charlie, two but Mikayla came to her rescue.

The youngster calmly picked up her mum’s iPhone, typed in her password and made the video call to her grandmother Colette, 52.

PROUD: Mikayla phoned for help using FaceTime

Soon after the FaceTime call was made Paramedics arrived where Mrs Riches was found to be severely dehydrated.

The lucky mum, who had been unconscious for around half an hour, also had desperatley low blood pressure and so was taken into to hospital for treatment.

Speaking about the ordeal, Tracey said: "On Monday morning I woke up and felt weak. I didn't feel right. I phoned the doctor's but missed the call back because I was being sick.

"I sat on the sofa with Mikayla and my youngest daughter, Charley, who's two.

"That's the last thing I remember until I came round and there were three paramedics and my mum in my house."

COOL: Mikayla picked up her mum’s iPhone and made the video call to her grandmother

And she says that that Mikayla was her 'miracle baby'.

"Mikayla saved my life. Things could have been so different. I could have choked on my vomit or something.

"I'm extremely proud of her.

"We FaceTime her dad and my dad every day and for the last six months she has been able to do it herself.

"Everyone used to have a go at me for letting her use my phone. They said three-year-olds should be playing with dolls not technology. But this goes to show I did the right thing."
