AMD’s brand new Zen chip architecture will see the light of day in its new Ryzen processors.

The Ryzen family will come in three tiers for the more budget-conscious consumers and those who believe blazing benchmark results are priceless.

AMD Ryzen is the latest in the computer processors to hit the market

The CPUs were designed by AMD from the ground up during a four year process that aimed to build a new architecture from scratch.

The chips are expected to undercut and outperform the high-end product line from competitor Intel and their Kaby Lake processors.

AMD says the chips will be supported by the major motherboards from ASRock, Asus, MSI and Gigabyte.

When is the AMD Ryzen release date? 

It is confirmed that the first CPUs will ship on Thursday March 2 with pre-orders open now.

How to preorder the AMD Ryzen?

Overclockers.co.uk is currently offering pre-orders of the CPUs with free shipping and a two per cent discount.

Scan.co.uk has a similar deal on with free shipping as well.

All CPUs will come with the option of being paired with a new line of Wraith coolers straight in the box, at a slightly higher price.

What are the benchmark results for Ryzen?

All three tiers of the Ryzen will feature 8-core chips, with 16 threads, ranging from £319.99 to £489.95.

Official Cinebench results presented by AMD beat its competition at a fraction of the price.

Benchmarks placed the 3,6GHZ, 95-watt Rysen 7 1800X, at score 9 per cent higher than Intel’s Core-i7 6900K.

The AMD processors are ready to preorder before March

This means the AMD CPU outperformed Intel while costing nearly £500 less.

Lisa Su of AMD called it the “fastest eight-core processor on the market” with more performance at half the price. 

Similarly the Ryzen 7 1700X outperformed Intel in Cinebench scores.

All chips will be over-clocking friendly straight out of the box, which is good new for the PC enthusiasts and gamers alike.
