Earlier this month, HP increased the cost of its HP Elite x3 in the UK by 7%, raising its price to £757.20 including the Desk Dock accessory that supports Windows 10 Mobile's PC-like Continuum experience. The company has also launched a trade-in deal, offering up to £500 to buyers of its flagship phones for those trading in the latest iPhones and Galaxy S7 handsets, as well as some older models. Those who trade in one of Microsoft's Lumia 950 or 950 XL flagships will get just £125 cashback.
HP's UK pricing for the Elite x3 has been all over the place in recent weeks, but the Microsoft Store has remained consistent in its pricing of the high-end Windows phone until now. Today, Microsoft has cut the price of the Elite x3 and Desk Dock from £706.80 to £689.99 - a reduction of £16.81, or 2.4%.
That price drop makes the Elite x3 and Desk Dock considerably cheaper at the Microsoft Store than direct from HP, and cheaper too than major retailer Carphone Warehouse, which is offering the handset and dock for £699.99 SIM-free.

Meanwhile, HP showed off a lightly 'refreshed' version of the Elite x3 at the recent Mobile World Congress, along with a larger version of the Lap Dock accessory, which supports Windows 10 Mobile's PC-like Continuum experience on the go. HP hasn't yet made any announcements regarding its plans for either of those refreshed devices.
