Apple has also launched an Apple Pay information page on its Taiwan website. The info page supplies details on the service in the country, listing participating banks, retailers, and more.

9to5Mac notes that at launch, Apple Pay will work with MasterCard and Visa cards from seven banks in Taiwan – including the “big four” banks: Taishin International Bank, Taipei Fubon Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Cathay United Bank, CTBC Bank, E.SUN Bank, and Union Bank of Taiwan.

Apple Pay will be supported by most Taiwanese retailers that support payment via NFC terminals. This includes Far Eastern Department Stores, Sogo, Carrefour, PXMart, and others. FamilyMarts will also accept Apple Pay, but only for users of Taishin International Bank cards.

Apple’s mobile payments system is also available in U.S., UK, China, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, France, Hong Kong, Russia, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, and Ireland.

Apple’s contactless payments system works with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus; all Apple Watches; iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2, and both iPad Pro models. Macs are the latest addition to the compatibility list, as they can now use Apple Pay as of the debut of macOS Sierra.
