Microsoft has just released Windows 10 build 15063 to insiders in the Release Preview, which is the final step the company takes as part of the Windows Insider before the public launch for retail users.

Release Preview is the last ring in the Windows Insider program and is only updated when a specific build reaches an advanced stage, meaning that most of the bugs and issues reported by users in Fast and Slow rings are already fixed.

Next step: the public launch

Build 15063 is said to be the RTM version of the Windows 10 Creators Update, and given that Microsoft has made it available for all users in the Windows Insider program, it’s expected to be shipped to everyone else on April 5 via the Update Assistant and on April 11 via Windows Update, obviously with a few more fixes.

“Today we are moving Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring to the Windows 10 Creators Update (Build 15063) for PC. This is an important step as we prepare to roll out the Windows 10 Creators Update to customers around the world starting on April 11th. Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring will be helping test the update path from the Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Build 14393) that customers will be taking,” Microsoft said today.

The next step for Microsoft is to make the Creators Update available for retail users, and this will happen starting Wednesday when the Update Assistant will allow them to download the new OS version manually.

Windows Update will start shipping the Creators Update to the rest of users beginning April 11, but what’s very important to know is that not everyone would get it on day 1. The rollout would take several months, Microsoft said, with new PCs to be the first seeing it in Windows Update.

The fastest way to get the Creators Update is to use the Update Assistant on April 5 to install it, though those looking for a fully automated system might rather prefer to wait for the Windows Update release.
