Introducing Microsoft Edge - The New Windows 10 Browser

Google's Chrome already has a huge 57 per cent share of the web browser market and Microsoft is clearly keen to stop that number growing.

The US software company launched its all-new Edge browser as part of its update but it seems adopters haven't embraced it.

In fact it appears that Microsoft Edge is losing users by the day.

According to a recent study by Net Applications, the number of users choosing Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer has more than halved in the last two years.

Net Applications' data shows the number of PC users favouring Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer has plummeted from 62 per cent to just 27 per cent between March 2015 and February 2017.

Microsoft Edge could soon get regular updates like Google Chrome

One problem for Microsoft is that due to the way Edge is bundled with Windows 10 they can only push out updates when the main system upgrades are released.

This only happens twice a year and means Edge can't keep pace with the regular changes pushed out by the like of Google.

However, it now seems that Microsoft is considering changing the way it deals with its Edge software.

According to internal sources, Edge fans will soon be able to get updates via the Windows Store - meaning Microsoft can release extra features more often.

It's though this change will arrive in September, when the next major Windows 10 upgrade, codenamed Redstone 3, is due to be land on PCs.

It also includes an all-new Paint 3D app which makes it easier than ever to build and create 3D models and items.

Paint 3D offers a simple way to get in to 3D modelling, with a number of pre-set models alongside customised options, all of which can be shared online and even printed in to real-life.

Microsoft's Windows 10 has proven extremely popular with the US technology firm revealing that there are over 400 million active devices across the world.

This figure makes the software the fastest-adopted version of Windows ever.
