HP bets big on A3 printer mkt in India

Tech major HP today expanded its portfolio of A3 printers in India as it looks to tap into the growing segment.

The new line, which includes 32 SKUs, are designed to meet various printing needs of the customers and come equipped with security features that are available in A4 printers, HP India Senior Director Printing Systems Raj Kumar Rishi said.

He added that the enhanced portfolio will enable HP to cater to sectors like banking and financial services, government and various enterprises as well.

Rishi said the A3 printer market is estimated to be about USD 150 million and growing in single digits.

"We have seen our share growing to seven per cent at the end of December 2016 quarter and we are confident of expanding this further," he said. * * * * * * The Commercial Bank deploys blockchain pilot with Infosys *

Infosys Finacle has completed a pilot for cloud-based blockchain network to process international remittances in partnership with Qatars Commercial Bank.

Commercial Bank, along with its subsidiary Alternatifbank in Turkey and its associates National Bank of Oman in Oman and United Arab Bank in the UAE, have formed a grid for routing cross border business transactions across the India-GCC corridor.

This is among the busiest remittances corridor in the world, as per the World Bank report.

The permissioned network eliminates the need for intermediaries, enabling the banks to settle customer payment requests on a real-time basis, Infosys said in a statement.
