AMD's highly anticipate and high-end graphics card solution, Vega, may turn out to be pretty capable, although not as powerful as Nvidia's top-tier offerings. A new leak emerged on 3Dmark results which seem to be coming from an AMD Vega card, suggests it could be as powerful as a GTX 1070.

There is a score uploaded to Futuremark's database for its 3DMark Time Spy benchmark that is listed as using a "Generic VGA" graphics card paired with an AMD Ryzen 7 1800X processor. The setup in leaked benchmark has scored an overall score of 5,950 that is based on a graphics score of 5,721 and a CPU score of 7.699.

The listed card at the benchmark has the Vega device ID (687F: clockspeedC1) that is what is there in the Guru3D to its true identity. The listed card's score is similar to the GTX 1070 test results Guru3D achieved in its own internal testing.

AMD Vega is a single graphics card setup with 8GB of memory, 1,20clock speed, and 700MHz memory bus clock. This has led to speculation that it's a nothing but a Vega card.

If the card is indeed an AMD Vega GPU, it's not at all necessarily the world beater some expected. However, it has 8GB HBM2 memory and a clock speed of just 1,200MHz which hints that there could be a lot more headroom, according to Digital Trends.

Graphics drivers can have a great impact on performance. So as time goes on and AMD is able to optimize things a bit better, we can expect even better scores from whatever AMD Vega card this happens to be, as reported by Hot Hardware.

AMD has been known most recently to under promise and over-deliver on its range of products. AMD patrons are hoping that AMD will be able to present the AMD Vega as a feasible candidate for a high-end graphics card.
