Thanks to some factory CAD images and high-quality renders, we’ve gotten our clearest look yet at Apple’s next-gen iPhone — if leakers @OnLeaks and tech blog @GearIndia are to be believed, that is!

The images depict a powered-off iPhone 8, sized somewhere between the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, although slightly thicker than both. As previously rumored, they show the expected vertical camera setup and edge-to-edge OLED infinite display with no Home button.

The iPhone 8 is widely expected to be Apple’s biggest redesign since the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus devices made their debut back in 2014. You can check out this article for everything we currently think we know about the next-gen handsets.

Conflicting iPhone 8 rumors

We’ve plenty of conflicting iPhone 8 rumors so far this year. While design decisions like eliminating the Home button or embracing OLED displays have been widely agreed upon since the start, other details such as whether Apple will successfully embed the Touch ID sensors under the iPhone 8 display remain up in the air.

Also up for discussion is whether Apple will debut an iPhone 7s series alongside the iPhone 8, or if it will just debut a 10th anniversary iPhone 8.

Part of the confusion may stem from the large number of different iPhone prototypes Apple reportedly is testing this year.

The final ongoing mystery concerns exactly when Apple will debut its new handsets. This has been a matter of discussion for some time, with some reports claiming production challenges will push the iPhone 8 back as far as 2018, while others suggest there will be no delay whatsoever.

One thing practically everybody agrees on? This year’s iPhone “super cycle” should break sales records, due to pent-up demand.
